Healing requires a safe and trustful relationship between the client and therapist. We will experience and effectively use our own nervous system therapeutically, in order to develop specific clinical techniques to work with stress and trauma symptoms. We will be introduced to new SI Assessment Tools in order to demonstrate how to work with the Fight-Flight-Freeze Structures.

- Understanding the Polyvagal System and its application to the healing process
- Discovering why the client-therapeutic relationship is so fundamental
- Detailing exercises in working with the neuroception of safety.
- Exploring the possibilities for regulating the ANS and protocol in dealing with stress & trauma symptoms.

About the Speaker :
Dr. Herbert Grassmann is a Body Oriented Psychotherapist in his own practice. He is also Director of the European Association of Somatic Traumatherapy (EAST), Executive Director of the Institut for Structural Core Therapy (SKT) and founder of SKT - Strukturelle Körpertherapie, and Somatic Memory. In the late ‘80s and early '90s, he trained in Structural Integration with Peter Melchior und Emmet Hutchins. He is a Certified Hakomi Practitioner and trained with Pat Ogden and Peter Levine. Associate Professor at the Matepe University in Istanbul for MA in Clinical Psychology with Body Psychotherapy Certificate. Professor of Psychosocial Studies and Bodymind Healing at the Parkmore Institute/South Africa, Johannesburg. . Currently, as the Chair of the EABP Science and Research Committee, he is participating in a trauma-research study with Steven Porges and his Kinsey Institute's Traumatic Stress Research Consortium to document the consequences of trauma on health, sexuality, and psychosocial processes.
