Reclaiming the Pelvic Floor

Thursday, March 25, 2020, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Session Description

Harness your expertise of the pelvic floor. Bring awareness and empowerment to a vital portion of our bodies that is classically misunderstood, silenced, and shamed. Why work the pelvic floor? How do we assess if a pelvic floor is hypertonic? Hypotonic? What systemic experiences would either of those conditions cause? Can YOU embody your pelvic floor? Join Denise Foster Scott, Board Certified Structural Integrator (CM) & core instructor at the Soma Institute of Neuromuscular Integration®, as she helps to clarify working on the pelvic floor and psoas while bringing you into a greater awareness of your own body. We will bring insight to the anatomy and physiology of the pelvis, working with trauma, communication, and broaden the importance of pelvic diaphragm work. Through the lens of Structural Integration, we will explore structural analysis, pelvic floor treatment technique, and self-care all while awakening our own connection to what Dr. Ida Rolf called the “seat of your soul.”
